ANNOUNCEMENTS AND EVENTS

To the Members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church:

Since 2012 it has been my privilege to serve as your pastor.

During this time, the Lord has worked among us in so many wonderful ways.

  • Our building and grounds have been remodeled.

  • We have enhanced worship with technology upgrades.

  • We have sent out over ten pastors, pastors’ wives, and future missionaries.

  • Most importantly, we have continuously supported missions at home and abroad through our gifts to the Red River Baptist Association, the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, and the International Mission Board.

We also have faced many challenges:

  • We have become more and more a “greying” congregation.

  • We have witnessed the “home going” of many of our members.

  • And of course, we have endured the COVID pandemic.

Through it all, the Lord has remained faithful. He has guided us as a congregation every step of the way.

And now I must share with you that the Lord is guiding Ardith and me to the next step in our journey. He has called us to relocate to Virginia so we can be near our grandkids. As all you grandparents know, this truly is a calling.

July 16 will be our last Sunday. We will leave for Virginia immediately after the potluck dinner.

Although we eagerly look forward to what lies ahead, it is with a sense of sweet sorrow that we leave you all behind. You have been a most warm, loving, and supportive congregation. We will always hold you dearly in our hearts.

In Christ,

Bro. Ray
